(Alumina coated) Nitride-bonded Silicon carbide Plate setter. 34cm diameter only 7mm thick. Used in conjuction with the mulite props available to build layers to fire many plates efficiently even to stoneware temperatures. 

NSiC kiln furniture is thinner and lighter than traditional kiln furniture stable to 1450˚C and designed not to warp and resists glaze runs. 

IMPORTANT :

ALL Nitride-bonded  Silicon Carbide products (and ware placed on it) need to be bone dry before firing in the kiln. Ideally stored in a dry enviroment. If you are not sure, then the shelf or setter so be fired very slowly for the first 200˚C and allowed to soak there for 30mins to 1 hour with the kiln fully vented. Failure to follow this advice may result in cracking  which will be considered user error and not a fault. 

Nitride bonded Silcon carbide kiln furniture should be stored and handled with care to avoid breakages. 

If your kiln does not have door safety switch DO NOT load these products unless the kiln is isolated at the mains as they are conductive and risk electric shocks.
