These classes will teach you how to draw from objects using different drawing techniques and approaches. You will be encouraged to develop your drawing, mark making and painting skills and your ability to observe through both expressive and more considered drawings.
This course is aimed at all abilities for those who wish to experiment with a variety of drawing materials and subject matters.
You will learn how to draw shapes, using pencil, charcoal, graphite, pastels and apply tone using a variety of shading techniques, make interesting compositions and have one completed still life study by the end of the course.
- Learning drawing skills and techniques,
- How to use some drawing and painting materials like pastels and watercolour\ink , mono printing and mixed media techniques,
- Learning scale and proportion in drawing,
- Transferring from photograph to drawing/painting
- Principles of colour theory,
- Drawing from still life, photographs and people
You need to bring a variety of pencils to include HB, 2B, and 4B, some cartridge paper (A3 in size) and a rubber to the first class.
Individual discussions will take place between tutor and you and there will also be group discussions. Photographs can also be taken of your artwork, which would show progress.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Homework will not be compulsory but some can be set if learners would like to do some.
An HB, 2B, and 4B pencil, charcoal, graphite, soft-oil pastels, watercolour/ink, some cartridge paper (preferably A3 in size) and a rubber. Advice about further drawing materials will be given at the first lesson.
PLEASE NOTE - The running of this course is subject to receiving sufficient enrolment numbers. Bluematchbox reserve the right to close, cancel or postpone a course if it has not received the minimum required enrolment number by the scheduled start date. In the case of cancellation, enrolled learners will be notified 3 days prior to the start of the course and are entitled to claim for a full refund of their course fees.
